The Controls Technician is an experienced troubleshooter involving electrical and mechanical issues. They must be capable of leading the maintenance team with repairs, projects, and new installations. They must be experienced in wiring new electrical controls for a variety of applications and machines. The control technician must be able to determine the appropriate sequence of operation with troubleshooting plant issues and creating permanent solutions for the issues resolved.
EDUCATIONAND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5-10 years of experience as a maintenance technician.
- Strong manufacturing maintenance background strongly preferred.
- Strong technical skills, be a master of troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues.
- Minimum of 5 years electrical/mechanical experience supporting production issues, project assist, controls installations with The Father's Table.
- Strong mechanical / electrical background.
- Ability to troubleshoot and access PLC Programs.
- Ability to show proficiency with electrical systems.
- Reliable employee that can work independently in fast paced production environment.
- Must be able to work additional hours or beyond standard schedule with little or no notice.
- Perform or assist with any operations, as required, or directed, to maintain workflow or respond to production requirements.
- Ability to follow directions and specific instruction written, verbally or electronically.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, scissor, and aerial lifts.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and the ability to coach and train others in difficult situations.
- Able to fluidly read schematics and blueprints.
- Able to interact with vendors and m equipment manufacturers on service, installation, and repairs.
- Ability to contribute to a team environment as an experienced maintenance technician.
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Excellent Organization Skills. Familiar with OSHA standards.
- Familiar with lathes, mills, and welders.
- Knows flow, procedures and processes of company products and procedures.
- Familiar with FDA, SQF, USDA, RTE regulations
- Experienced with CMMS systems.
- Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to make appropriate decisions with minimal intervention.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write legibly in English.
- Ability to be proactive and take initiative.
- Basic computer skills and ability to type and enter data into computer systems regularly.
- Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations and measurements.
- Comfortable working around multiple voltage electrical circuits.
- Good hand and eye coordination.
- Exceptional attendance record. Able to take all production calls and the knowledge to determine which calls should be attended first in the product flow.
- Maintain a positive and constructive work environment within the department, management as well as with other departments and promote teamwork.
- Verify GMPs and Safety standards (OSHA) are always maintained and act and/or follow-up when deficiencies are noted.
- Ensure all food safety principles and legal requirements have been applied effectively.
- Must work various shifts and hours including holidays and weekends.
- Provide ongoing training within department and operations.
- Assemble, Install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using handtools and power tools.
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and troubleshooting malfunctions on 100% of facility equipment.
