Facilities Coordinator

Position Summary:The Facilities Coordinator will split their time working at Samueli Academy and other Orangewood Foundation sites, completing various maintenance related tasks, overseen by the Facilities Manager.
Major Areas of Responsibility:- The Facilities Coordinator will manage the completion of the day-to-day work orders and projects at multiple sites.
- Complete the campus preventative maintenance plan as needed based on best practices and compliance requirements.
- Complete maintenance tasks in various building repairs such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Alarm, Controls, Security, and landscaping to minimize downtime.
- Communicate necessary repairs effectively to the facilities manager and team while keeping updated notes in our ticketing software.
- Work with outside vendors that are contracted for maintenance and repairs.
- Effectively and proactively communicate and build relationships with the team.
- Coordinate with facilities team to ensure all facilities are well maintained and up to standards.
- Monitor supplies and spare parts inventory and coordinates orders with the Facilities manager.
- Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency associated with maintenance.
- Accurately and efficiently close work orders to meet the department's goals.
- Additional duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
- Skilled trade school preferred.
- Carpentry, drywall and painting are preferred.
- HVAC experience valued.
- Minimum of three years of maintenance technician experience is preferred.
- OSHA 10-hour safety card preferred.
- Experience monitoring and managing building management software and systems.
- Ability to understand work orders, installation manuals, other written materials, etc.
- Experience with and ability to work safely with power tools when needed.
- Prior customer service experience in professional environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Comfortable presenting oneself in community settings.
- Comfortability working around adolescents in a school setting and in residential housing locations.
- Possess a valid California driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance. The position requires DMV clearance.
- Pre-employment screenings include a criminal background check, FBI/DOJ fingerprinting, TB test, drug screen, and employment verification.
