Maintenance Apprentice
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the incumbent will perform a wide range of maintenance tasks of IAIA facilities, vehicles and/or equipment, which includes essential physical components material to the position and tasks often performed outdoors. Support IAIA's mission, vision and core values.
The apprentice will be trained in the following functions:
- Complete in an accurate and timely manner a wide range of assigned maintenance tasks, work-orders and/or a project on IAIA facilities and grounds, which include but are not limited to:
- Filter replacement and coil cleaning of HVAC units
- Minor carpentry, painting and drywall repairs
- Minor electrical work, change outlets, lights, ballasts, etc
- Minor plumbing, faucets, toilets, leaks
- Assist with the assembly of furniture and fixtures.
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of IAIA vehicles.
- Complete assigned errands for the department, such as the purchase of supplies or delivery of items/materials.
- Responsible for assisting with snow removal and general upkeep of Campus grounds.
- Assist with meeting and conference set-ups.
- Complete other duties as assigned
Required Experience/Education
Must have a high school diploma. Must have a current and valid NM drivers' license. Must have a clean driving record, in order to be bondable to drive an IAIA vehicle. Must have an acceptable background check results.

Working Conditions
- Tasks are performed in varied external climates, which may vary from extreme cold to hot weather.
- Tasks are also performed in interior environments which may contain dust, fumes and/or particles.
- Duties require the ability to reach, stoop, bend and/or crawl.
- Duties require the ability to move and/or maneuver items weighing up to 50lbs.
- Duties require the ability stand for extended periods of time.
- Duties require the ability to effectively and safely use a wide-range of maintenance tools.
- Duties require the ability to climb ladders to complete tasks, which may include climbing to the roofs of buildings.
- Ability to complete all the physical dimensions and demands of the position.
