Playground Maintenance Technician
Help keep our playgrounds safe and beautiful for our residents and visitors. Perform playground inspections and complete corrective repairs, as well as perform skilled work in the new construction, remodeling and repair maintenance of county parks and facilities. Complete inspections and minor repairs on Sky Logix, Mag lock and Lighting systems. It also includes restroom cleaning, picking up trash, policing grounds, pressure cleaning, boardwalk inspections, playground mulch spreading, assisting the Sheriff's Office Work Program, and an assortment of various tasks.
Respond to work orders for repairs in county parks, involving carpentry, painting, concrete work, irrigation. Assist other staff in routine or corrective maintenance projects. Perform scheduled playground inspections.
Responsible for managing materials, multiple work orders, purchasing cards, and maintaining county equipment. Evaluate and communicate potential issues. (locates, calendar conflicts, permitting, other related issues).
Paperwork creation and completion (work orders, inspection reports, invoices, p-card receipts).
Work Hours:
40 Hours Per Week - 6:00 a.m.
- 2:30 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or its equivalent
2 years of experience, education, training or any combination of experience in park maintenance.
Valid Driver's License is required.
Within one-year, incumbent must obtain National Recreation Parks Association (NRPA) playground certification.
Job
Competencies:
Knowledge of minor construction, shop fabrication, painting, power tools, "handyman" skills and environmental stewardship.
Physical Demands:
Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening:
This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
