Small-Engine and Truckmount Systems Mechanic Compensation: $21.00 - $23.46 per hour

What you’ll work on Truck-mounted carpet cleaning units

Portable carpet extractors

Hard-surface floor cleaning machines

Duct cleaning and deodorizing equipment

Dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, air moversHEPA vacuums2-, 3-, and 4-cylinder gas engines

Basic automotive systems (basic automotive experience)
Your impact

Diagnose and repair commercial cleaning, restoration, and surface-prep equipment with efficiency and accuracy.

Leverage test equipment, troubleshooting guides, and manufacturer repair manuals to validate fixes.

Identify and communicate additional service needs discovered during inspections.

Hit or exceed service department productivity and quality goals.

Follow supervisor direction and collaborate across the service department and store; pitch in to help teammates.

Use and care for shop equipment and tools correctly.

Keep a safe, organized, and tidy workspace; always use required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.).Create service orders for incoming units and manage appointments in our scheduling software.

Coordinate appointments and updates with customers in person, by phone, and via email.

Build bids and present clear estimates for approval.

Balance shop workload with other technicians to meet deadlines.

Order parts and work with vendors to keep repairs on track.

Coordinate service activities with other store employees to ensure smooth operations.

What you’ll need Preferred background (2+ years):
Commercial cleaning/restoration equipment; small engine maintenance/repair; pressure washer maintenance/repair; or vehicle maintenance/repair.

Driver requirements:
Valid driver license and a clean MVR—no DUIs or Careless/Reckless driving within the past 3 years.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Tools:
Your own basic mechanic’s toolkit.

Capabilities:
Strong diagnostics, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving.

Professional skills:
Good written and verbal communication and basic computer proficiency.

Physical:
Consistently lift 50+ lbs.

Work style:
Focused, timely, and quality-driven; able to work occasional overtime.
