Job Description
The Building Services Coordinator supervises inmates, prioritizes and assigns work, maintains a healthy and safe work environment, and recommends inmate job transfers.
In addition, the coordinator inspects central facilities and surrounding buildings for safety problems, cleanliness, and comfort; performs building maintenance and repairs; and researches and evaluates space requirements for employees who are redefining, relocating, or expanding their office space.
Essential Duties- Review all requests for vouchers, work orders, and memorandums and ensure proper procedures are followed.
- Ensure grounds are properly maintained and groomed.
- Oversee and prepare the facility for meetings and events with proper equipment, seating, and tables.
- Maintain all tools and equipment and issue receipts to personnel and inmates upon checkout.
- Perform inspections and spot‑check systems and mechanical rooms.
Job Requirements
This safety‑sensitive position requires a pre‑employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing. It is a civilian position in a public safety department or in Information Technology with close ties to public safety. A public safety background—including motor vehicle and criminal histories, and fingerprinting—may be required.
Grade and SalaryGrade: B23(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience. Effective 4/11/2023, the position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or G.E.D. and three years of building maintenance, safety, management, or related experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties.
- Valid driver’s license.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
