Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM
Overtime: Rare and never mandatory. Occasional Saturday overtime (6:00 AM-2:30 PM) may be available. Emergency call-outs or weekend guard dog care may occasionally be required and are paid a minimum of four hours.
Position SummaryWe’re looking for a dependable Maintenance Mechanic to help keep our facility and equipment running safely and efficiently. In this role, you’ll perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and complete repairs throughout the plant. You’ll work with a small team and take on a variety of mechanical, electrical, and maintenance tasks in a fast‑paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities- Perform maintenance and repairs on pumps, motors, mixers, conveyors, augers, valves, piping, and other production equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues (up to 480 V).
- Replace seals, packing, bearings, and other mechanical components.
- Perform pipe fitting for steam and product transfer lines.
- Complete welding and basic fabrication as needed (training provided).
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and safety procedures.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Assist with equipment cleanup, leaks, spills, and general plant maintenance.
- Help open or close the facility when needed.
- Assist with care and handling of the facility’s guard dogs when assigned.
- Identify potential equipment problems before they become major failures.
This position works in an industrial manufacturing facility and may involve:
- Exposure to dust, moisture, oils, noise, odors, and changing temperatures
- Working indoors and outdoors
- Walking throughout the plant
- Climbing ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms
- Standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience using common hand and power tools
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and electrical troubleshooting
- Understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and workplace safety
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn new equipment and maintenance procedures
Preferred (Not Required):
- Experience in industrial maintenance
- Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, welding, or similar trade experience
- Overtime available but never mandatory
- Paid emergency call-outs (4-hour minimum)
- Training provided on facility equipment and procedures
