Job Summary Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all vehicles in accordance with the Grady Health System Policies & Procedures and the EMS operations manual to ensure the readiness of all assigned emergency and non-emergency vehicles through the application of industry standards. In addition handle the day to day activities of the Atlanta and South Fulton vehicles and stretchers to ensure safe, reliable and ready vehicles and equipment for 911, NET, MIH and 10-13 Physc vehicles 24/7.

Handle the most detailed repairs for fleet vehicles and be on call for tow truck service as well as traveling to other Grady EMS facilities to assist in repair of vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent required and experience to job field is required

Two (2) years of heavy/medium vehicle mechanic experience in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining automobiles, vans, SUVs, and trucks.

ASE certification in Light Vehicle Diesel Engines required within 12 months of hire date. Current employees hired prior to October 21, 2012 will be “grandfathered” on ASE certification but must acquire required ASE certification by November 1, 2014.Valid Driver's License is with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record is required. Must maintain acceptable MVR per department policy throughout employment.
