ABM Industries is seeking a Stationary Engineer to support Facilities, Maintenance & Asset Management operations. This role operates, maintains, and troubleshoots boilers, chillers, pumps, air handlers, and building automation systems to ensure reliable, energy-efficient facility performance. The engineer performs rounds, logs readings, responds to work orders and alarms, and conducts preventive and corrective maintenance. The position also supports safety and environmental compliance, coordinates vendors, and partners with facility teams to deliver clean, comfortable, and mission-ready environments for diverse ABM clients.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain boilers, chillers, pumps, and air handling equipment to ensure reliable facility operations.
- Perform routine rounds, record readings, and document equipment status in logs and CMMS.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls issues on critical building systems and resolve or escalate as needed.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on HVAC, steam, hot water, and related systems.
- Monitor and adjust Building Automation Systems (BAS) for comfort, efficiency, and equipment protection.
- Respond to work orders, alarms, and emergency calls, prioritizing safety and minimal downtime.
- Support compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including inspections and documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and facility staff for repairs, shutdowns, and projects.
- Identify energy-saving and reliability improvements and communicate recommendations to supervisors.
- Participate in safety meetings, ongoing training, and ABM culture initiatives focused on teamwork and service.
