Role
Summary:
Seeking a Senior Staff Accountant with strong experience in General Ledger (GL),
month-end close
, financial reporting
, internal controls
, treasury
, and ERP systems
, especially Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365). This role supports corporate accounting leadership by owning daily accounting operations, driving the close process, supporting audits, and improving processes across multiple entities.
- Oversee daily GL operations ensuring accuracy of accounting records.
- Prepare and review journal entries
, including intercompany
, AP/AR
, and credit card transactions. - Lead month-end and quarter-end close
: schedules,
reconciliations
, and variance analysis
. - Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies
; support SOX-ready documentation
. - Prepare consolidated trial balances across multiple entities.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, capital expenditure tracking, and asset setup within D365
. - Partner with FP&A on forecasts and reporting.
- Act as Accounting SME for ERP implementation (AS/400 ->
D365 migration). - Support management reporting
, ad-hoc analyses
, and process improvements.
- Monitor daily cash balances and support liquidity planning.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
- Execute and reconcile bank activity
, including intercompany and wire transactions. - Support banking documentation and signatory maintenance.
- Liaise between Accounting, the D365 implementation partner, and PMO.
- Maintain GL configuration
, ensure module integrity, and support workflow management. - Improve system automation
, integrations, and overall accounting scalability. - Own data integrity between payroll, equity, ERP systems, and the GL.
- Lead continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
- Primary contact for external auditors
, providing schedules and reconciliations. - Oversee annual audits and ensure timely completion.
- Manage sales/use tax
, property tax
, and related compliance activities. - Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies.
- Coordinate with external tax service providers on filings and provisions.
- Partner with HR on payroll entries and related balance sheet reconciliations
. - Lead and support ad-hoc projects and business process implementations.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and organizational data.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7–10+ years progressive accounting experience.
- 2+ years in corporate accounting or Assistant Controller capacity preferred.
- CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
- Public accounting experience with Big Four or top-tier firm preferred.
- 4+ years supervisory or team-lead experience.
- Familiarity with IFRS
. - D365 experience strongly preferred
; ERP implementation experience required. - Advanced Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, reconciliations).
- Strong communication, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
