Staff Accountant

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 plus discretionary bonus

Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their close‑knit accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with general ledger accounting experience who enjoys financial analysis, problem‑solving, and working in a collaborative environment. Insurance industry experience is required but statutory reporting can be learned.

• Prepare journal entries and assist with month‑end close
• Reconcile bank, investment, and general ledger accounts
• Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting
• Support statutory and NAIC reporting
• Analyze account activity and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with audits, fixed assets, and special projects
• Provide backup support to the Bookkeeper

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of accounting experience
• Insurance industry experience required
• General ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Analytical, detail‑oriented, and collaborative
