Senior Director, Investment Administration, Reporting – Real Estate Solutions

• Review and assist with monthly accounting packages for residential mortgage loan, commercial real estate loan, and debt/equity security portfolios
• Oversee preparation and review of financial statements and footnote disclosures under US GAAP and the Investment Company Guide
• Advise clients on accounting elections and treatment alternatives for investments, derivatives, and securitizations/borrowings
• Draft or review technical GAAP memoranda
• Ensure accurate, consistent, timely, and compliant financial reporting
• Assist auditors with annual audits and interim work
• Assist tax teams with REIT and tax compliance
• Coordinate with client staff and third-party providers
• Identify reporting issues and communicate corrective actions
• Review or perform month-end close, update monthly workbooks, analyze variances, post journal entries, and prepare reconciliations
• Oversee review of client books and records, account reconciliations, correcting journal entries, work papers, and adjusted trial balances
• Review partner, shareholder, management fee, waterfall, and clawback calculations
• Oversee preparation of partner capital statements, capital call notices, and distribution notices
• Assist with special accounting projects, including accounting software implementation, IPO projects, transactions, process reviews, forensic investigations, and reporting assistance
• Supervise and complete engagements
• Prepare pitch materials and assist in selling IA&R services

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting or similar field
• 8+ years of experience in GAAP accounting for mortgage loans, debt/equity securities, and derivative instruments, preferably with public accounting experience
• Alternatively, a mix of public accounting experience focused on real estate finance and industry experience at a public or private MREIT or real estate finance company
• Knowledge of portfolio accounting, including loan securitizations and securities accounting
• Understanding of consolidation accounting and joint venture accounting
• Proficiency in month-, quarter-, and annual closings for US GAAP financial statements and preparation of related working papers or analyses
• Occasional travel required to clients and FTI offices
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

• CPA strongly preferred
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Knowledge of Investment Company Guide accounting is a plus
• Sound knowledge of US Historical GAAP, including fair value option, and SEC reporting is a plus
• Knowledge of financial statement preparation software such as Wdesk
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Yardi or MRI
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively verbally and in writing
• Self-directed and motivated, with a focus on continuous improvement
• Flexible and adaptable work style; able to prioritize tasks, work independently or as part of a team, and meet tight deadlines

Proficient in coordinating audits, managing client relationships, and leading special accounting projects while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
