Chicago Northwest Suburbs | $75,000–$95,000 annually | 100% On-Site
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, intermediate to advanced Excel skills, and the ability to hit the ground running while serving as a resource to others on the team.
Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Own assigned accounts and processes end to end, reviewing work for accuracy and resolving discrepancies independently.
- Perform financial analysis and generate reports to support decision-making.
- Serve as a resource to junior accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and review support as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and carry assigned work through to a complete and accurate result.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to work effectively with financial data.
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP/accounting systems preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
