Receptionist at Valley Nature Center; part-time

Job Summary

One (1). The Spring Valley receptionist team provides the first point of contact for customers calling or visiting the Nature Center and Heritage Farm. The role is responsible for making guests feel welcome and for answering questions and providing information about the site, its facilities and programs. Responsibilities include answering phones, handling cash register sales, preparing deposits, processing program registrations, maintaining neatness of interactive displays, refilling inventory in the gift sales area, performing some clerical duties, and covering Heritage Farm’s Visitor Center as needed.

Weekend responsibilities will include opening and closing the Nature Center building.

Applicants should have exemplary customer service skills and genuinely enjoy interacting with the public. They must have office/clerical and computer experience, including familiarity with Word, Excel, and Outlook. Applicants should be able to work independently and be willing to adjust to a changing pace of work. Applicants must be 18 or older.

This is a year‑round, part‑time position paying $15.00 per hour. The normal schedule is 10–20 hours per week, 2–4 days a week, including weekends and some holidays. Weekday hours are generally 12–6 p.m.; weekend shifts are 10–2 p.m. or 2–6 p.m. Hours vary seasonally, with a busy season from April to October.
