Job Description

The Department of Pediatrics seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Health System Clinician at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor for the role of Attending Physician in the Division of Allergy & Clinical Immunology.

Responsibilities include excellence in delivery of care, education, and advocacy. The provider hired in this role will be responsible for outpatient clinical care, at primarily satellite locations in Chicago and the surrounding areas with an estimated clinic number of 8 half-day clinics per week. This role will not include hospital consultative duties. Involvement in informal teaching of the fellow who may interact with the health systems clinician as part of clinical care is expected.

Participation in Division meetings is also expected as part of the duties of all attending physicians within the Division.

Qualifications:

DO or MD degree, BC/BE in Pediatric Allergy & Immunology, and a medical license or eligibility for one in the State of Illinois. The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.

The Division of Allergy and Immunology currently includes 13 faculty members, 4 nurse practitioners, and 7 research staff (including 4 research nurses). The division provides both general allergy care and coordinated care for children with complex presentations including primary immunodeficiency, immune-rheumatology, immune-hematology, and participates in multispecialty programs including DiGeorge clinic and the severe asthma clinic. Members are actively involved in NIH-funded research in asthma, food allergy and primary immunodeficiency.

The Division hosts a Jeffrey Modell Center for Primary Immunodeficiency and provides fellowship education with one pediatric allergy fellow per year as part of the combined fellowship program with Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine Division of Allergy and Immunology. There is a robust collegial environment with support, interaction, and meetings among Division members in educational, research, and clinical activities, including Allergy/Immunology rounds, immunology chart rounds, and research rounds in collaboration with Northwestern.
