Adjunct Faculty – Biology and Chemistry

Roosevelt University's College of Science, Health, and Pharmacy seeks multiple adjunct instructors to teach courses for the Fall 2026 semester with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Anatomy & Physiology, General Biology, General or Organic Chemistry. When applying, specify which expertise area(s) and which campus locations (Chicago and/or Schaumburg) you are interested in. Applications will be reviewed with an expected start date for the fall semester (August 15, 2026 and end date of December 20, 2026).
Job Duties (all positions):
Weekly instruction in face-to-face lecture, discussion and/or laboratory;
Regular interaction with other course instructors and course coordinator as applicable;
Successful retention of students by means of effective pedagogy;
Clear and timely communications;
Timely submission of all grades;
Consistent usage of Roosevelt University email address (to be assigned upon onboarding). The salary for each 3 credit course is $3,982. Instructors may be assigned to up to two course sections per semester.

Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
Required - A Master's Degree in biological science, health science, biochemistry, chemistry or related field. Prior experience teaching at the university level. Years of Experience Required - 1-2 years teaching at the university level. Required Education

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with at-risk and/or first-generation college students. Experience teaching the specific courses described above. Equipment Operated
- Basic office/ classroom equipment (desktop computer, laptop, overhead projector, office copier) and specialty equipment as required for laboratory instruction. Working Conditions
- Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required, especially in laboratory sections (typically less than 10 pounds).
