Roosevelt has recently applied for provisional accreditation with the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. [ARC-PA] with a planned program start date in August 2028. This is an exciting opportunity to help build a developing PA program from the ground up, contribute to curriculum design, teach in a variety of learning environments, mentor students, and support the program's preparation for ARC-PA accreditation.

The ideal candidate is a clinically experienced PA who is student-centered, collaborative, organized, and committed to preparing compassionate, competent, and socially responsible Physician Associates.

This individual works closely with the Program Director, Medical Director, faculty and staff to support student achievement of program learning outcomes and competencies. We are seeking a candidate who shares our commitment to Roosevelt University's social justice mission. Roosevelt University is a private, non-sectarian university with 4,400 students studying at campuses in Chicago's south Loop, suburban Schaumburg and online. Founded on the principles of access and social justice, Roosevelt is the fourth most ethnically diverse college in the Midwest, with a mission to prepare students to assume roles as leaders in their professions and communities.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Accreditation & Program Development:

  • Curriculum & Instruction:
Collaborate with the Program Director, Medical Director, and faculty to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise didactic and clinical curriculum content.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in the didactic phase using classroom, laboratory, simulation, case-based, small-group, and other active learning formats.
  • Serve as course director, instructor of record, or team instructor for assigned courses.
  • Assessment & Student Success:
Develop and evaluate student assessments, including written exams, practical exams, OSCEs, assignments, clinical reasoning activities, and skills-based assessments.
  • Provide timely feedback, academic advising, mentoring, counseling, and remediation to support student success and professional development.
  • Admissions & Student Engagement:
Participate in admissions, student selection, orientation, student progress review, and other student-related program activities.
  • Clinical Education and SCPE Development:
Help with outreach and development of supervised clinical practice experiences across required disciplines, including family medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine, surgery, pediatrics, women's health, behavioral and mental health, and electives.
