Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Biomedical Sciences
The Integrated Biomedical Sciences (IBMS) Program in the College of Science, Health, and Pharmacy at Roosevelt University, Schaumburg, Illinois invites applications for two Tenure-Track, research-focused Assistant Professor positions. We are seeking collaborative and creative researchers who bring innovative biochemical, cellular, therapeutic, or computational approaches to conduct team-oriented, applied, and integrated research targeting cancer.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM AND COLLEGE:
Building upon the research expertise in molecular genetics, multi-omics, immunology, chemistry, computer and data sciences, and pharmacy, the IBMS Program collaborates with the scientific, medical, and pharmaceutical communities to develop novel integrated methodologies that expedite breakthroughs in cancer therapeutics. We prioritize collaborative teamwork and recruit candidates who can extend and enhance the IBMS Program's excellence in cancer research. The College of Science, Health, and Pharmacy offers active faculty development and mentorship programs to facilitate career progression.
Support is also available for grant writing, locating external funding resources, and processing grant submissions before and after approval. Due to the nature of the funding for this position, sponsorship will not be possible.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research & Scholarship (70%):
Maintain an active research agenda in cancer biology and therapeutics or a closely related field. Publish in peer-reviewed venues and seek external funding where appropriate. Mentor and supervise student researchers at both undergraduate and graduate levels. As these are research-focused faculty positions, new hires are expected to receive grant funding that will cover 20% of their salary by the end of year 3.
Teaching (20%):
Participate in mentoring Master and PhD students and teach graduate-level courses.
Service (10%):
Service to the department, college, University, and profession. Support community engagement.

Required
- PhD or equivalent degree in biomedical science. Postdoctoral experience and research excellence in cancer biology and treatment. Strong knowledge, research skills, and peer-reviewed publications in cancer molecular, multi-omics, biomarker, therapeutic, and/or database analysis. Peer-reviewed publications in cancer fields. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in building multi-disciplinary collaborations and teams. Evidence of support and respect for all students and colleagues, and experience in serving students from diverse backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior service and mentorship of masters' and doctoral candidates' research. Graduate-level teaching experience.
Equipment Operated
- Standard office equipment (desktop computer, copier/ multi-function device, and telephone) and equipment that may be used in laboratory settings.
Working Conditions
