The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for leading program-level designs and prototype fabrications for complex enclosure solutions that produce the required performance and features to provide greater value for our customers. This position will require primarily job-centered decision-making and close collaboration with others involved in the process. The Senior Design Engineer will manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities- Lead projects from concept through to launch.
- Provide technical support in plastic part design and processing.
- Draw and design package preparation and release.
- Develop requirements and analyze product design data to determine conformance to established design selection criteria, standardized parts and equipment use, and design-to-cost practices.
- Maintain and upgrade existing products.
- Establish test plans and execute 3rd party certifications.
- Lead the development and testing of prototypes for new product ideas and create product specifications.
- Create and maintain project development plans and create and execute Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and redesign existing products.
- Generate and release full bills of material for manufacturing.
- Identify non-conformances and root causes to initiate and implement solutions.
- Assist in other duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering - Required
- 10 years of experience in Plastics (injection, structural foam molding) - Required
- Understanding of Product Life Cycle Management, RCA, and 3D printing required
- Understanding of Tooling and its design for review with 3rd party tool designers required
- 5 years of CREO/Windchill and or additional 3D CAD experience - Definitely a Plus
- Familiarity with industry standards including:
Telcordia Specification, TIA, SCTE, FOA, etc. and the testing required
- 5 years of CREO/Windchill and or additional 3D CAD experience
- FRP Composite design and manufacturing
- Fiber Optics experience desired (patch panel, splice trays, handling, and routing)
- Fiber optic measurement (power meter, OTRD, fiber microscope)
- Knowledge of MS Project and Visio desired
