Application Engineer

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a motivated Applications Engineer – CNC Grinding & Turning to join their team. This is a high-impact, customer-facing role ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys problem-solving, hands-on machining, and collaborating closely with customers and internal teams. This opportunity offers exposure to advanced CNC equipment, involvement in complex manufacturing challenges, and the chance to be a technical authority supporting sales, engineering, and end users across North America.

• Develop and validate machining processes for CNC grinding and turning applications, including tooling, fixturing, and process optimization.
• Evaluate customer part requirements and translate them into efficient, repeatable machining solutions.
• Perform machine demonstrations, feasibility studies, time studies, and sample part processing in support of sales initiatives.
• Support machine installations, runoffs, and customer acceptance activities both on-site and at customer facilities.
• Deliver hands‑on training for customers and internal teams.
• Provide technical support to customers, sales teams, and distribution partners via phone and on‑site visits.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, controls, and manufacturing teams to test new machine options and system enhancements.
• Represent the organization at trade shows, open houses, and customer events.
• Stay current with evolving CNC technologies, controls, and industry best practices through ongoing training.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or completion of a Technical Certification Program.
• 5+ years of CNC machine tool experience, with a strong focus on grinding and turning applications.
• Proven experience developing machining processes for precision components.
• Hands‑on knowledge of CNC programming, including G‑code and/or conversational programming.
• Familiarity with common CNC controls (e.g., Siemens, Fanuc, Mitsubishi)
• Experience working directly with customers in a technical or applications‑focused role.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and professionally.
• Comfortable working independently as well as within cross‑functional teams.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and solid modeling tools.
• Proficiency with standard business software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

$80,000 - $100,000
