Resident Engineer

The Resident Engineer (RE) works with clients at construction project sites and provides contract administration and management of various infrastructure projects. The RE serves as a key member of client teams for project delivery.

• Lead construction inspection teams on highway and/or roadway projects.
• Plan, prepare, and analyze construction documents.
• Supervise the preparation of inspector daily reports.
• Mentor and assist staff in reviewing and analyzing contractor project schedules, traffic control plans, and other required submittals to ensure they meet contract requirements and restrictions.
• Conduct regular progress meetings as necessary with the contractor and appropriate personnel.
• Ensure the safety of personnel and the general public in all work activities.
• Monitor work for compliance to schedule, budget, technical specifications, and contract requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

• B.S. In Civil Engineering
• 15 years of Construction Engineering experience related to highway and/or roadway projects
• 10 years of Resident Engineer experience related to highway and/or roadway projects
• 5 years of Illinois Department of Transportation and/or Illinois Tollway experience, or equivalent state agencies
• Experience communicating and coordinating with clients and stakeholders
• Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills
