We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Product Planning Engineer to develop and execute comprehensive product plans, aligning with market needs in our Turning and Milling business lines. You will be responsible for conducting market research, identifying customer pain points, and creating detailed product/technology roadmap to guide the development and coordinating launch of new products and solutions. This role combines market analysis, product development, cross-team collaboration, and strategic planning, with a focus on optimizing product performance and sales.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct deep research to understand industry trends, competitor actions, and customer needs, identifying opportunities and risks for product development.
- Collect and analyze customer data through surveys and interviews to drive product improvements and new features.
- Work with cross-functional teams (R&D, AE, Automation, CS) to align on product strategy and ensure customer insights shape product decisions.
- Define a clear product roadmap, prioritizing features based on market and customer needs and guide the product development process.
- Develop plans for product launches, including marketing strategies, sales activation, and customer onboarding, while preparing sales materials (manuals, quotes, etc.).
- Track launch performance, adjust strategies as needed, and lead global product launches, ensuring successful local rollouts. Assess the economic impacts of supplier tooling costs, lead times, and unit costs.
- Create pricing strategies, forecast revenue, and monitor metrics to optimize pricing, sales, and profitability.
- Maintain relationships with HQ and participate in global product planning conferences.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of the current Machine Tool Industry is a must
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Ability to evaluate, understand product development strategies within United States.
- Strong networking skills needed to keep pace with contemporary manufacturing practices at better/best in class companies.
- Ability to use MS Office
