Role SummaryThe Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end execution of high-speed connector development projects, from concept through qualification and production release. This role focuses on day‑to‑day project planning, schedule control, risk management, and cross‑functional execution within a high‑tech, fast‑paced NPI environment.
The Project Manager works closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and customers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with technical and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities Project Execution & Delivery- Own execution of assigned product development and customer‑driven projects, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and timelines are met.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and task ownership throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track progress against schedule, cost, and scope, identifying risks and driving corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate project activities across engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, and external partners.
- Lead cross‑functional project teams across multiple global sites without direct authority.
- Schedule and facilitate regular project meetings, reviews, and action‑item follow‑ups.
- Escalate issues proactively and communicate resource needs to functional management.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for project‑level customer communication, including status updates, schedules, and deliverables.
- Prepare and present clear project status reports to internal stakeholders and management.
- Support customer reviews, design milestones, and qualification readiness activities.
- Partner with engineering to ensure product requirements, specifications, and design intent are clearly defined and tracked.
- Ensure application of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Coordinate capacity planning and readiness through NPI phases to support forecasted demand.
- Ensure systems and processes are in place for ordering, manufacturing, and product release.
- Identify, track, and mitigate project risks using structured risk management tools.
- Support cost tracking, capital requests, and change control related to project scope.
- Manage project changes to minimize schedule, cost, and quality impacts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related discipline).
- 5–8+ years of experience managing engineering or NPI projects in a high‑tech hardware environment.
- Experience in connectors, interconnects, electronics, or electromechanical products strongly preferred.
- Experience with project management tools and scheduling software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with structured product development or phase‑gate processes.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and execution skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills across technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced NPI environment.
- Proven problem‑solving skills with the ability to operate with limited supervision.
- Comfortable working with global, cross‑cultural teams and time zones.
