Haeger Engineering, an established civil engineering and land surveying consulting firm located in Schaumburg, Illinois is seeking an entry level Civil Engineer.
The civil engineer will work on the design and permitting for land development projects including residential, commercial and industrial sites. Our ideal candidate has a degree in civil engineering with 0 to 5 years relevant professional experience and has AutoCAD experience or training. The candidate should have advanced technical skills, a high degree of computer literacy, and be able to demonstrate an ability to read and understand engineering plans.

Position DetailsPosition Responsibilities, Expectations, and Accountabilities:
- Prepare engineering plans and supporting calculations under the direction of a Project Engineer, Associate or Principal
- Work Independently and efficiently, and have good mathematical and logical skills
- Undertake 2 to 3 projects/tasks simultaneously
- Understand engineering and design processes
- Understand permitting needs
- Perform research or gather information as needed
- Good technical writing skills and ability communicate with peers and respond to clients and review agencies in a professional manner.
- Expected to work 40+ hours a week, and available to work additional hours with pay when needed to meet deadlines
- Bachelor of Science degree (or similar) from an accredited educational institution in the field of civil engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training is desired, and Engineer should work towards obtaining their EIT certification.
- Upon suitable experience the Engineer should work towards obtaining the professional engineering license.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD drafting software
- Familiarity with storm drainage concepts and hydraulic modeling
- Technically competent with various software programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
- Professional in appearance and demeanor.
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Ability to adjust to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
