Job Summary
Hunter Foundry is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer with 3+ years of experience to support the design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of electrical systems used in our foundry and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, automation, PLCs, and equipment reliability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems, control panels, and power distribution systems for foundry operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, automation, and control system issues to minimize downtime.
- Program, modify, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities for electrical equipment.
- Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and other applicable safety standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and manufacturing efficiency.
- Assist in the planning, execution, and commissioning of capital improvement projects.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
- Support vendors and contractors during equipment installations and upgrades.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial manufacturing, foundry, metals, or heavy manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, power distribution, and automation.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen Bradley preferred).
- Experience with HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and industrial networking.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software tools.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus.
- Experience in foundry, casting, metal processing, or heavy industrial operations.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software.
- Experience with robotics and industrial automation systems.
