Mechanical Engineer

Job Title

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Team Lead on the design and development of clutch housings.
• Perform concept modeling and stress analysis using CREO Simulate.
• Coordinate part detailing activities with external design and drafting teams.
• Review PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process) and contribute to supplier quality assessments.
• Conduct design assessments and evaluate deviation requests for non-conforming materials.
• Develop first-pass design solutions and concepts as directed.
• Perform basic FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to validate structural integrity.
• Travel occasionally to the Decatur plant to support production and process optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical component design.
• Proficiency in CREO or similar CAD modeling tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with casting design, particularly clutch or axle housings.
• Familiarity with rotating component design and analysis.
