Nova Fire Protection is seeking a new entry-level CAD designer to join our design team.

Major responsibilities include:

• Use AutoCAD to design fire sprinkler systems for residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
• Coordinate system designs with other mechanical trades.
• Conduct field surveys
• Create hydraulic calculations for selecting pipe sizes and pump requirements.
• Furnish material lists for fabrication.
• Confer with architect’s, engineers, and building department officials to ensure code compliance.
• Assemble submittal packages for permit review and approval.
• Maintain communication with purchasing manager, field installers, project manager and general contractor throughout construction.

• Minimum of 2-years experience in a professional work environment
• Proficient with AutoCAD.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans
• Degree or certification in engineering/CAD design/architecture or related field
• Prior experience managing multiple projects, setting own deadlines, and meeting goals
• Ability to conduct field visits at construction sites.
