Position SummaryThe Tax Analyst will be responsible for tax compliance, tax planning, and tax reporting for HTA and its subsidiaries. The analyst will work across multiple domestic and international tax areas, calculating liabilities, preparing forms, and handling external reporting. Responsibilities also include performing tax research, analysis, planning, and optimization for changes in laws and regulations, tax structuring for mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing, and more.
This role is primarily income‑tax related but will assist the team with non‑income tax issues as needed (sales/use tax, property tax, licenses, special projects). The analyst will collaborate closely with external consultants and agencies such as auditors, lawyers, and regulatory bodies.
Primary Responsibilities (E) Corporate Income Taxes – Domestic and Foreign (70%)- Gather domestic data and prepare calculations for federal and state income tax returns, including permanent and timing differences.
- Gather foreign transaction and subsidiary data and prepare calculations for GILTI, FDII, BEAT, and other federal/state filings.
- Prepare interim and year‑end income tax provision calculations.
- Communicate with third‑party providers during provision and tax return work.
- Monitor tax legislation changes and communicate key developments to management.
- Lead tax discussions with preparers and support financial & tax audits.
- Ensure internal controls for accounting for income taxes.
- Support budgeting and cash‑flow forecasting related to tax activity.
- Support indirect tax functions: sales/use tax, property tax, census reporting, business licenses, and other regulatory filings.
- Evaluate indirect tax saving opportunities.
- Manage information flow for FBAR tax returns.
- Participate in new or unique business discussions, M&A, and propose optimal tax treatment.
- Investigate and evaluate new or existing tax incentives.
- Support tax‑related projects, including transfer pricing.
- Ensure efficient use of system and non‑system tools and resources.
- Accurately establish and follow the department schedule.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA or MBA in Taxation preferred.
- 2‑5 years of corporate tax accounting experience, preferably with a Big‑4 firm.
- International tax experience preferred.
- Prior experience with sales/use tax and property tax preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP systems and SOVOS Tax Software preferred.
- Advanced computer skills and technology knowledge.
- Proficient with large data files, Microsoft Excel, and Office tools.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
