Position Overview:

The Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) invites well qualified candidates to apply for the position of Field Investigator – Boone County. This position serves as a sworn law enforcement investigator with full police powers, conducts investigations into complaints of police misconduct, acts as a liaison between ILETSB and training facilities and law enforcement agencies around the state, provides testimony before the Certification Review Panel and administrative hearings, and occasionally performs brief speaking engagements on behalf of the agency.

The ideal candidate for this position will have considerable professional experience conducting criminal investigations as well as internal affairs investigations. A successful history of public relations, effective communication skills, and strong report writing skills are also necessary for success in this role. ILETSB’s main headquarters is conveniently located at the southern edge of downtown Springfield in a beautifully maintained building across from the Lincoln’s Home National Historic Site with free secured parking on-site.

The Board’s Chicago office is located in the Near West Side and also offers free parking on-site.
