Overview

12-Month
- Technology Assistant II (Tier Technology Support Staff II)

Responsibilities
  • Assist students and staff in the use of technical equipment and software utilized by the district
  • Provide Help Desk support of equipment, district software, and technology systems for staff, students, and parents
  • Troubleshoot issues associated with the district software applications, including but not limited to educational software and apps for staff, students, and parents
  • Maintain inventory and supplies for Technology Department
  • Assist with setting up technical equipment for standard and special school events
  • Assist all other technology team members
  • Assist with the supervision of student workers
  • Maintain and modify school online applications as needed
  • Serve as the building web-based application administrator for all student and staff information systems
  • Manage, develop, and maintain school websites, web presences, and communications applications including, but not limited to; content creation, content management, scheduling of posts, promotion of school and District activities, initiatives, announcements, site maintenance, efficiency, browser compatibility, security, and ADA compliance
  • Work closely with the District communications team to coordinate posting of information in supporting school and District initiatives.
  • Monitor website and web presence metrics, algorithms, traffic and usage patterns to create optimal posting patterns
  • Continuously update knowledge and skills in support of school and District initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Technology Department Chair in conjunction with the Support Staff Administrator
Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal relations, communication and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of technical equipment; hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Good troubleshooting skills and a basic knowledge of help desk systems
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, GSuite, and other online learning applications
  • Knowledge of Infinite Campus, Schoology, and/or other student information or learning management systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, MacOS, iPadOS, and related hardware and software
  • General knowledge in the use of JAMF or other Mobile Device Management (MDM) Systems
  • General knowledge of iOS system updates, application updates, and iCloud management
  • Manage and troubleshoot various multi-platform applications and learning management systems
  • Knowledge of web-based content management systems
  • General knowledge in the use of JAMF, system updates, application updates, IOS updates and iCloud management
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Experience in videography, photography and photo/video editing software
  • Ability to produce, edit, and publish documents for presentation on internet-based platforms
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS Coding; PHP Programming; mySQL database;
    Graphics manipulation/processing; JAVASCRIPT; or current web technologies and programming languages
  • Familiarity with web presence, social media technologies and applications, and web traffic analysis software
  • Teamwork skills along with self-direction and leadership capabilities
  • Demonstrate good judgment, trustworthiness, flexibility, self-motivation, confidentiality, and the ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently
Working Conditions

Is under the supervision of the Support Staff Administrator while working under the guidance of the Technology Department Chair

Terms of Employment

Salary and benefits to be established by the agreement between the Board of Education and the United Support Staff Council.
