Architect, Solutions EDI

The Solution Architect EDI is the lead subject matter expert for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and B2B integration within a manufacturing environment. This role designs, implements, and supports scalable integration solutions that enable secure and efficient data exchange with trading partners, bridging business stakeholders and technical teams to translate requirements into operationally efficient system solutions.

• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for EDI and other B2B integration technologies.
• Partner cross‑functionally with stakeholders:
  • Review and document current state processes.
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities.
  • Translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Design and validate EDI solutions and provide guidance on best practices, security standards, and architectural principles.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, including solution reviews and design oversight.
• Support the creation and maintenance of process and system documentation to enable knowledge transfer, system stability, and smooth operational transitions.
• Mentor, coach, and train team members within the EDI and B2B integration domain.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, protocols, and standards and recommend improvements in services and products.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across systems, processes, and integration capabilities.
• Collaborate across functional areas including Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment of solutions with business objectives.
• Perform other duties assigned that support the overall success of the team and organization.
• Ensure regular, predictable, in‑person attendance on required business days and maintain remote engagement during non‑required in‑person days.

• Technical expertise (7+ years in the following areas):
  • Deep experience with EDI platforms and integration solutions such as Boomi, Stædean / To‑Increase, Open Text, and SPS Commerce.
  • Strong understanding of EDI standards, particularly ANSI X12.
  • Experience with EDI communication protocols, including AS2, FTP, SFTP, HTTPS, and VAN.
  • Hands‑on experience with EDI transaction sets such as 850, 855, 856, 810, 940, 943, 944, 945, and 947.
  • Proficiency in EDI mapping, business process modeling, interface design (inbound/outbound integrations), and SQL query development.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Strong experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Manufacturing environment.
