Attorney​/Lawyer

Description We are looking for an Attorney/Lawyer to join our team on a contract basis in Schaumburg, Illinois. This role focuses on regulatory research, compliance implementation, and communication with regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to legal standards within the insurance sector. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of commercial insurance and regulatory compliance processes.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze and monitor changes in state laws and regulations impacting insurance operations.

- Perform thorough legal research to interpret new or amended statutes, including appraisal and filing requirements.

- Verify statutory requirements using authoritative resources and regulatory guidelines.

- Assess the impact of legal changes on company products, forms, rates, and business operations.

- Create detailed compliance summaries outlining legal requirements, operational adjustments, and submission needs.

- Collaborate with internal departments to implement necessary changes and ensure compliance.

- Communicate updates and compliance requirements to external partners and stakeholders.

- Prepare and oversee form and rate filings to meet regulatory standards.

- Draft clear and accurate correspondence to regulatory entities and address inquiries as needed.

- Develop and maintain efficient systems for tracking regulatory updates and compliance activities. Requirements - Proven expertise in commercial insurance, regulatory compliance, and underwriting.

- Strong ability to conduct legal research and analyze statutory changes.

- Experience preparing regulatory filings and drafting correspondence for compliance purposes.

- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple compliance tasks simultaneously.

- Familiarity with building structured compliance processes and tracking systems.

- Knowledge of state regulatory requirements and timelines for implementation.

- Law degree and relevant experience in the insurance industry preferred.

The pay range for this position is $60 to $75. Benefits available to contract/contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Hired contract/contract professionals are also eligible to enroll in our company 401(k) plan. Visit  for more information.
