International Operations Supervisor – Schaumburg, IL

Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through proactive communication, professionalism, and effective resolution of operational challenges while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing operations team, strategically managing workload distribution, coaching talent, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Cross‑functional partnership with sales, accounting, and compliance teams to align customer expectations with operational execution and business objectives.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end Air/Ocean Export operations, ensuring shipment accuracy, regulatory compliance, timely milestone management, and consistent service excellence.
  • Build and maintain strategic carrier, agent, and partner relationships to secure competitive pricing, reliable capacity, and innovative logistics solutions.
  • Drive operational excellence through KPI management, process improvement initiatives, detailed SOP development, and customer‑focused problem‑solving.
  • Ensure compliance and commercial performance by meeting regulatory standards, responding to specialized client needs, and balancing service delivery with profitability goals.
Experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience within the air/ocean export freight forwarding or transportation/logistics industry; import operations experience is a strong advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred; equivalent combinations of relevant industry experience and education will be considered.
  • Strong analytical and technical proficiency, with advanced computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office and Power BI is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of import/export operational workflows, including regulatory compliance requirements and global trade processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external parties.
  • Ability to present ideas in business‑friendly and user‑friendly language.
  • Superior listening skills.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Analytical problem‑solving capabilities.
  • A proven diverse background in all aspects of freight forwarding and operations within a dynamic growth environment.
