Principal Client Engineer

• Act as senior trusted advisor to strategically important clients on maximising nPlan's value
• Own and grow complex or high-value client relationships
• Act as an escalation point for technically or politically difficult schedule and risk issues
• Define product configuration for complex clients and set standards for other client engineers
• Own strategic projects end-to-end that improve product embedding within client organisations
• Set the approach for client adoption of advanced features, including LLM-based features
• Mentor clients on complex use cases
• Partner with Commercial leadership on engagement, retention, and expansion strategy
• Shape prototyping direction with Product Managers and AI Engineers
• Own the domain-expert function in the LLM evaluation cycle and define reliable, accurate standards
• Mentor and develop people across the client team
• Attend monthly client visits and team meetings in the London office

• 7+ years of experience in a planning, risk, PMO, or project management role on major construction projects
• Track record of owning complex schedule-risk problems end-to-end
• Deep understanding of large construction schedules, including P6, how they are built, and how to analyse them
• Demonstrable experience leading and delivering strategic projects that significantly improve organisational outcomes
• Credibility to influence senior client stakeholders directly
• Experience mentoring or upskilling planning, risk, or project controls professionals
• Passion for implementing technology to improve the construction industry
• Attention to detail; applicants must mention the word 'crane' in the application form
• Excellent relationship-building skills
• Personal or professional exposure to generative AI and strong interest in this area
• Nice to have: experience in a software company or software implementation in construction
