Position Summary

The Sheet Metal Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations related to the fabrication of sheet metal that will be used for production of parts for H3 Manufacturing’s customer base. This role ensures production schedules are met, inventory is accurately managed, and projects are executed efficiently while maintaining quality, safety, and customer delivery commitments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong supervisory experience who can adapt to changing priorities and effectively coach and lead a team of skilled trades professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of sheet metal manufacturing operations, including processing of hot rolled and cold rolled steel up to 1" thick.
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize jobs to meet customer deadlines while maximizing productivity and equipment utilization.
  • Monitor workflow and adjust schedules as needed to respond to changing timelines, rush orders, and production challenges.
  • Manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods to ensure accuracy and availability while minimizing waste.
  • Oversee and manage manufacturing-related projects as they arise, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and cost objectives are met.
  • Lead, coach, and support a team of skilled trades professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Train employees on proper procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, purchasing, and sales teams to support production goals and customer requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost reductions.
  • Responsible for quality of product(s) leaving the department. Must be the “go to person” for quality issues within the Sheet Metal Department.
  • Communicate labor issues to Manufacturing Manager and Human Resources as soon as possible.
Required Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Several years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within sheet metal or steel fabrication.
  • Proven ability to effectively schedule production jobs and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience with inventory management and ERP systems;
    Epicor experience is a plus

Physical Requirements
  • Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.
