The Maintenance Technician supports continuous improvement initiatives, improves safety, quality, and efficiency in all areas of responsibility, and maintains, repairs, and improves machinery, equipment, and warehouse facilities in a safe and timely manner. The role requires mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines, emergency and unscheduled repairs during production, regular preventive maintenance, participation in scheduled training and educational programs, and independent objective auditing activities.
Responsibilities also include routine maintenance and housekeeping on machines and equipment, using production documents, calculators, conversion charts, and basic math skills to calculate sizes, weights, and metric conversions, and working at different workstations as production needs require.
- Previous industrial maintenance experience; steel service‑center experience accepted.
- Familiarity with mechanical, pneumatic, automation, and hydraulics concepts preferred.
- Ability to read manufacturing equipment drawings and electrical and plumbing schematics.
- Ability to inspect material for quality using measuring devices and drawings.
- Strong knowledge and ability to use hand tools and welding tools, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Flexibility of work schedule.
- Working knowledge of general computer programs.
$25‑36/hr
