CNC and Manual Machinist

Charter Dura-Bar, a leader in continuous cast iron bar products, is seeking a CNC and Manual Machinist to produce high-quality precision components for automotive, fluid power, and industrial customers. In this on-site role, you will set up and operate CNC and manual lathes and mills, interpret blueprints and GD&T, perform tooling and fixture setups, and inspect parts using precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual lathes and mills to machine cast iron bar products to specification.
• Interpret blueprints, job travelers, and GD&T to determine machining steps and tolerances.
• Perform tool and fixture setup, offsets, and basic G-code edits for efficient production.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure dimensional and surface quality.
• Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform basic preventive maintenance.

• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and teammates to resolve technical and quality issues.
• Document production, quality checks, and downtime in accordance with company standards.
