Job Title: CNC Laser Operator - Weekend Shift

Job Type: Full-time, Weekend Shift (Friday-Sunday, 6:00am-6:00pm)

Location: Schaumburg, IL 60173

Position Overview

Prepare and operate Trumpf laser cutting machines to support production teams according to company specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform set‑up inspections, first‑piece inspections, and all subsequent inspections.
  • Adjust and prepare punch/laser combinations of jobs; read work orders to determine specifications, materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Use measuring tools (micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges) to complete tasks.
  • Ensure material is loaded into the laser and the machine control is set up to run on schedule.
  • Deburr parts with a file or grinder as needed.
Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
  • Proficiency in laser cutting and programming.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and precision measuring instruments, including bore gauges and micrometers.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Experience with hand tools, fabrication, and quality inspection.
  • Knowledge of machining processes, including CNC and press brake operation.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a 10‑hour shift.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, and grasp.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery and measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing production environment.
  • Regular exposure to machinery, metal materials, and industrial noise.
  • Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required to meet production demands.
