** Duly Health and Care is expanding our cancer services at our newly opened, state-of-the-art Schaumburg Medical Campus. We are looking for a Radiation Oncology Nurse to join our collaborative, physician-led team and help provide exceptional care and support to patients throughout their cancer  this role, you will provide direct nursing care to patients receiving radiation therapy, coordinate care with physicians and the broader care team, monitor patient needs, provide education and support, and serve as an important resource for patients and their families throughout treatment.

* Maintains appropriate credentials.
* Handles, accesses, and discloses patient information only as required in the performance of the job for treatment, payment or health operations in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company/department policies and procedures.
* Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
* Assists Provider in taking patient histories, obtaining vital signs, and preparing patient for routine exams or procedures, including collecting and processing specimens.
* Observes, records and reports the patient's condition and reaction to treatments and/or drugs.
* Direct nursing care and procedures such as administering medications, dressing changes and wound care, skin care, administering oxygen and monitoring oxygen saturation, and other as appropriately directed for patient care
* Responds to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls. Triages patient messages and responds in accordance with departmental policy and procedures. May assist in arranging tests, managing emergency response services, obtaining information on admitted patients while under radiation oncology treatments, calling in prescriptions, etc. Reviews and prioritizes same day messages.
* Referrals: dietician, physical therapist, social worker, home care, Hospice, ostomy nurse, transportation coordinator, Oncology Department (coordination of chemo, blood transfusions, scheduling), financial counselor and ancillary services as indicated.
* Consults and collaborates with other members of the health care team to assure patient needs are met and that there is effective and efficient continuity of care.
* Will perform all other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
** EDUCATION and / or CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
*** Current license to practice in the State of Illinois as a professional nurse.
* Obtains continuing educations credits as required
* Maintains BLS certification.
* OCN certification highly preferred.
*
* EXPERIENCE:

*** Prefer a minimum of 2 year of professional nursing experience in a clinical or hospital setting but may consider new grad under specific circumstances.
* Current experience within oncology highly preferred.
