The Assistant Manager role at Tradehome Shoes in Schaumburg, IL is a full-time, on-site position focused on supporting store leadership and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role involves assisting with daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, merchandising, and maintaining store cleanliness and organization. The Assistant Manager helps lead and motivate the sales team, provides coaching and feedback, and models effective customer service and sales techniques.
The role includes monitoring performance metrics, contributing to scheduling, and ensuring company policies and standards are consistently followed. The Assistant Manager also works directly with customers to understand their needs, recommend products, and build lasting relationships that support the store’s growth and reputation.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team support, coaching, and the capacity to take initiative in a retail environment.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, handle concerns professionally, and create positive in-store experiences.
- Basic retail operations skills, such as point-of-sale (POS) use, cash handling, inventory handling, and visual merchandising awareness.
- Solid communication and organizational skills to manage daily tasks, coordinate with team members, and follow company procedures accurately.
- Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for retail operations.
- Prior retail or sales experience is highly beneficial; supervisory or keyholder experience is a plus.
- Comfort with standing for extended periods and moving merchandise as required by daily store activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; commitment to learning and professional growth within an employee-owned company.
