HMM is on the hunt for an enthusiastic Inside Sales Representative to join our team! In this exciting role, you’ll engage with clients through phone calls and emails, following up on sales leads and making occasional cold calls. You’ll work closely with Account Executives to drive business growth and secure new opportunities. Key Responsibilities- Connecting with customers primarily via email and phone, with occasional face-to-face meetings.
- Creating, updating, and reviewing service contracts in collaboration with key contract holders.
- Working closely with the pricing and trade teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date pricing and rates.
- Reviewing operating system menus in detail to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues.
- Managing rate inquiries and new opportunities, ensuring the right teams are involved.
- Following up on pending issues to ensure they are resolved in a timely manner.
- Assisting with daily reports for Account Executives to ensure no opportunities are missed.
- Tracking daily bookings, addressing rating issues, and resolving system glitches.
- Taking on additional tasks as needed to support the team’s success.
- Education: High School diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, global logistics, or maritime is preferred
- Experience: Preferred 1-3 years of experience in ocean freight, supply-chain management, or global logistics.
- Strong Business Sense:
An understanding of business practices and the ability to think strategically - Customer-Focused: A commitment to assisting customers with a helpful and friendly attitude
- Negotiation Basics:
Understanding the basics of negotiations and how to navigate them effectively - Sales & Marketing Knowledge: A basic understanding of sales and marketing principles is essential
- Global Business Insight:
Familiarity with international business practices and global trade is a plus - Shipping Knowledge:
Any experience with ocean shipping, either imports or exports, is highly beneficial - Self-Motivated and Collaborative:
The ability to work independently while also thriving in a team environment - Clear Communication:
