Greater Chicago Area (Hybrid Remote, twice a month onsite)

Hours:

9:00am - 5:30pm
Classification:
Exempt, Full-Time, Direct-Hire

A growing commercial insurance brokerage firm is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager to support expansion. Reporting to the VP of Employee Benefits, the Account Manager will manage a book of small to mid-sized accounts with a focus on client satisfaction and retention.

Brokerage-side Account Manager experience in employee benefits is required.

Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain an assigned book of existing accounts, with some new accounts due to expansion.
Develop and execute client benefit strategies; manage the annual renewal cycle efficiently.
Supervise and Collaborate with CSR, Benefits Analysts, and Open Enrollment Specialists to ensure smooth renewal processes.
Coordinate and attend open enrollment meetings as needed.
Supervise subordinates and maintain accurate policy data and documentation in the system.
Handle limited travel for client visits (mostly local; occasional overnight trips or same-day visits to neighboring states).
Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA; provide benchmarking, renewal, RFP management, reporting, and analytics support.
Deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Four years of employee benefits experience within a brokerage environment.
Health Insurance Account Management experience.
Active Life, Accident, and Health Insurance Agent License (required).
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Ability to travel to client sites using a personal vehicle.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong problem-solving, project management, and relationship management skills.
