Position Overview

The Inside Sales Account Executive – Major Markets (MM ISR) is responsible for executing the dedicated sales process (“The Paylosophy”) with potential clients and closing new sales agreements. This role operates in a fast‑paced, quota‑driven environment targeting mid‑sized businesses, requiring a strong focus on personal development and adherence to the AE Expectations document.

Responsibilities
  • Grow the Major Markets Inside Sales division
  • Execute the sales process (“The Paylosophy”) with every lead received
  • Schedule and virtually present Paylocity services with prospective clients
  • Take prospective clients through an entire demo of the product suite
  • Prepare and virtually present proposals and provide appropriate follow‑up throughout the sales process
  • Organize, complete and obtain the documentation required for clients to move to Paylocity system
  • Work directly with internal departments to ensure a smooth transition for clients
  • Stay up‑to‑date on HCM knowledge and industry trends
  • Prepare activity and forecast reports as requested
  • Generate net‑new business opportunities, leveraging the company’s expertise, industry profile, and knowledge of the industry
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quota
Qualifications
  • Must report to an approved Paylocity location
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military Service (preferred)
  • 1–2 years of proven experience in a sales position
  • Ability to succeed in a competitive environment
  • Ability to maintain high activity standards
  • Critical thinking and decision‑making skills required to handle objections and unexpected situations throughout the sales cycle
  • Ability to manage the administrative component of closing a sale (document collection, managing files, working with a contract administration team, etc.)
  • Experience partnering with internal and external partners
  • Customer service orientation
  • Strong presentation, written and oral communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience working with a CRM such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods (approximately 7–8 hours per day)
  • Use of computer and phone systems:
    Operate a computer, use phone systems, and type while running multiple software programs simultaneously

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $38,400 – $71,200 per year. Pay may vary depending on experience and qualifications. This position is eligible for a variable commission plan and offers a full range of benefits.
