Job Responsibilities and Requirements

The National Client Executive is accountable for all aspects of the customer experience with assigned national clients as well as managing and owning the overall client relationship. As the lead of a team of professionals, they will deliver on our promises, fully leverage the power of our service capabilities to exceed expectations and problem solve for custom client needs. They will review the financial metrics, retention and growth of the assigned block.

The National Client Executive will serve as a subject matter expert to our clients regarding Disability, Life, FML, State Leaves, and Company Leaves (Paid and Unpaid) as well as ADA. Typical group size is 2000+ lives. Retention and cross‑selling drive the client renewal strategy for the premier client base, with input from sales and/or practice leaders. They provide comprehensive service and directly assist in profitably growing the company’s top consulting base.

They lead finalist meetings typically with large teams and can include navigating complex solution discussions. They proactively identify and execute cross‑sell opportunities (additional lines of business). They manage merger and divestiture activities with clients to ensure smooth transitions, and they manage and negotiate complex performance guarantees. They drive client conversations around potential downstream effects of certain changes to the plan, and achieve or exceed assigned metrics such as service, client persistency, implementations, and customer satisfaction.

Required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) – Business or related
  • 5+ years of group insurance experience servicing clients/client management
  • Group Life and Health License(s) required
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications required including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • A self‑motivated individual with the ability to manage their own work and consistently champion company and department vision and goals
  • Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to multi‑task and manage tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • High level of customer service orientation
  • Ability to manage responsibilities with limited supervision and work autonomously
  • Ability to prioritize daily responsibilities, readily discerning urgent needs and escalating as needed
  • Experience in negotiating complex contracts and agreements
  • Highly adaptable with an ability to learn and grow in an ever‑changing environment
  • At least 3 years of group insurance experience, absence management, disability, leave, and life insurance
  • Experience in client management, sales, or underwriting
Pay and Location

The expected hiring range for this position is $ – $ annually for work performed in the primary location (Schaumburg, IL). This expected hiring range covers only base pay and excludes any other compensation components such as commissions or incentive awards. The starting base pay will be based on several factors including work location, job‑related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.

Work location may be flexible if approved by the Company. Hybrid work arrangements are available for eligible roles.
