Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker II after completing a 4‑to‑8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in Operations and Sales & Service. The position is a sales role focused on building relationships and promoting deposits, loans, fee‑based services, and customer retention.
Responsibilities- Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
- Maintain in‑depth knowledge of retail consumer and small business products/services and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Use CAMP and other approved marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and schedule periodic financial reviews.
- Cross‑sell to existing customers and pursue outside sales activities such as Membership Advantage onsite presentations, business sales calls, and community financial literacy events.
- Partner with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, and Investment) to refer customers for holistic financial solutions.
- Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and individual/team production goals, contributing to year‑over‑year revenue growth as measured by the Financial Center P& L.
- Provide guidance to CSRs on the sales and referral process.
- Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor and professionalism.
- Respond confidently to customer questions and own customer issues.
- Maintain confidentiality of all business information.
- Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and other policies, exercising ethical behavior at all times.
- Adhere to policies and procedures while opening/servicing the full range of retail products.
- Participate in the consumer loan and bankcard process, owning sourced loans from application through closing.
- Assist in the opening/closing process of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
- Stay current on retail procedures that mitigate fraudulent activity and risk exposure.
- College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the financial industry preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop comfort with sales activities targeting new consumer and small business customers, and cross‑selling to established customers.
- Proficiency in advanced math functions to analyze credit and financial information.
- Professional appearance and strong verbal/written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of retail policies and procedures to make sound decisions.
- S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
Normal office environment with frequent computer use. Requires travel within the affiliate for training and occasional travel outside the affiliate for classroom sessions. Flexible scheduling is required.
