Full-Time

Gabriel Environmental Services is seeking a full time Environmental Field Technician for a blend of field and office work. We are a small environmental consulting firm located just north of downtown Chicago.

• Collection of industrial process and wastewater samples from food manufacturing plants, metal plating facilities, hospitals, and other businesses in the Greater Chicago Area (using company vehicle).
• Log in samples to NELAC accredited laboratory for analyses.
• Measure and record effluent discharge from facilities.
• After training, ability to prepare regulatory reports for various governmental agencies.
• Independently set up sampling equipment and maintain safety standards at job sites
• Interact with clients in a variety of industries and maintain high standard of customer service

• Background in environmental science or related fields OR
• 2 to 3 years of independent work experience.

• Computer skills including, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with customers, clients, and team members
• Good organizational and creative problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks
• Comfortable driving (sometimes for multiple hours a day) Valid Drivers License
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to work in difficult weather conditions
• Ability to adapt and be flexible based upon workload and customer requests
