Overview
The Hunter Foundry Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and technical support on Hunter Foundry Machinery. The role involves troubleshooting complex systems, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, and delivering exceptional customer service to clients.
Key Responsibilities- Installation, Start-up and Maintenance: Install, inspect, and test equipment or machinery at customer sites. Start-up machinery at customer sites. Perform routine maintenance and preventive care to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with equipment or systems. Replace defective components and recommend upgrades or improvements as needed. Consults with Hunter Foundry engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance.
- Customer Support: Provide technical assistance and training to customers regarding equipment use and maintenance. Maintain a professional demeanor while addressing client concerns or questions.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed daily and end of project service reports, including maintenance records and parts used. Document all actions and provide feedback to internal teams to improve product reliability.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and customer safety standards. Identify and mitigate potential hazards on job sites.
- Travel: Travel to customer locations, often on short notice, to perform service work. Manage schedules and prioritize service calls to meet deadlines.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required). Associate’s degree or technical certification in mechanical field preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in field service or equipment maintenance. Experience with Foundry molding equipment is a plus.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficient with tools, diagnostic equipment, and software. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Knowledge in electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. PLC A B & GE (Program) monitoring, downloading, and/or troubleshooting experience a plus but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
- Willingness to work irregular hours and be on-call as needed.
Primarily field-based with exposure to industrial settings.
Additional Requirements- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
- Position requires 80% travel with occasional international travel.
- Self-starter; able to adapt to changing work schedules to accommodate the customer.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, IE Word, EXCEL, etc.
