SummaryThe Patient Access Specialist is the first point for patient, family members and other members of the community seeking access to and information regarding life‑changing care at Rogers Behavioral Health. The Patient Access Specialist is responsible for explaining the services available, insurance, and next steps to potential patients and/or responsible representative.
Responsibilities- Describe levels of care within Rogers to potential patients and/or their responsible representative
- Understand clinical criteria necessary for admission to Rogers’ programs
- Explain insurance coverage to patients during the pre‑admission process and answer related questions
- Enter demographic and insurance information of potential patients and/or responsible representative into system
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, human services, or a related discipline required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a health care setting; health information, admissions, utilization review, or patient billing
- Customer service experience is required
- Empathy and understanding towards patients’ needs and challenges, creating a supportive and caring environment
- Understanding of managed care, Medicaid, and Medicare insurance is nice to have
- Comfortable navigating electronic medical records
- Must pass pre‑employment background and drug screen
- Monday‑Friday 8:30am‑5:00pm, some flexibility
- Monday‑Friday 11:30am‑8:00pm, some flexibility
- 12‑hour shift options available:
Thurs, Fri, Sat or Sun, Mon, Tues - 10‑hour shift options: 4‑10hr; weekend rotation (every 3rd or 4th weekend) and holiday rotation required; shift differential for nights and weekends
