We seek applicants for part-time instructors to teach for the IDPH-approved Certified Nursing Assistant Program within the College's Health Sciences division. Positions are available at our Normal, IL campus as well as our locations in Lincoln and Pontiac, IL.
DescriptionPart-time instructors will teach theory, lab, and clinical components of the program. Adjunct faculty shall be compensated per Equated Contact Hours (ECH) of instruction. The current rate of compensation per ECH for new Adjunct Faculty is $1,011. Example 8‑week schedules run back‑to‑back as 8W1 and 8W2. Example 16‑week
Schedule:
Lecture is 5 ECH;
Lab is 2 ECH; and Clinical is 4 ECH, with a preference for the same instructor to teach lab and clinical components for consistency with students.
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
- Two (2) years of nursing experience with at least one (1) year of experience in one of the following areas:
- Teaching theory in an accredited nurse training program or a nursing assistant training program
- Providing nursing care, including personal care and activities of daily living, to older adults or for chronically ill adults
- One (1) year of experience in the provision of long‑term care facility services or direct care
- Availability to be present on campus as needed
- Availability to be present on campus as needed
ADN or diploma nurses must complete an IDPH‑approved Train the Trainer program that includes instruction in Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias for at least four (4) hours or CEU credits. Registered professional nurses with a BSN degree or higher may be exempt from the Train the Trainer requirement but must provide documentation of completion of an IDPH‑approved specialized workshop, course, seminar, continuing education unit, or other approved training for instruction in Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias of at least four (4) hours or CEU credits.
