: If hired for the Electrical Engineer II position in Allen, TX, candidate will need to travel to Coal Valley, IL one week per month for skills development and to gain exposure to industry-related systems.

The Electrical Engineer II will perform the engineering tasks necessary for the development of electrical control system designs for a wide array of products including transit and modernization escalators and moving walks. Expected streams of work will include maintenance and modification of existing electrical systems, assessment of customer specifications for order bound escalators, creation of project specific designs, and new product development.

This position requires working in a team environment and may oversee the work of junior engineering staff to ensure product and project deliverables are satisfied. Qualified individual will possess strong project management skills and the ability to execute fluidly in both tactical and strategic work streams. The person filling this position will interface with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Sales, Field Operations, and Supply Chain personnel.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Lead technical reviews of escalator orders to ensure equipment is compliant with customer specification as well as any governing authority or jurisdiction requirements. Gather information required to clarify ambiguous points and coordinate activity associated with (internal and external) customer driven changes.

Use computer aided drafting software to generate electrical schematics and drawings. Review work executed by junior engineering staff and provide feedback and relevant modifications to ensure product quality and consistency.

Execution of custom designs in both hardware (component selection, interface circuitry design) and software of moderate complexity to satisfy product or project requirements. Perform and document power calculations required for modified or customs designs. Execute drawings used by manufacturing and field personnel to build and assemble components. Follow designs through validation and verification through manufacturing and field operations.

Selection and generation of bills of materials as required to support product development and/or project specific work.

Provide compatibility checks to ensure that components (i.e., drive systems, safety monitoring devices, etc.) will interface correctly with the running escalator system as well as external building electrical systems.

Drive implementation of project deliverables to escalator product platforms including adoption of new technologies or product advancements as required by ASME code.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills, including the ability to interpret, develop, and edit ladder logic, with additional proficiency in modifying programs in C/C++. Knowledge of computer-aided drafting tools like AutoCAD and EPLAN, as well as personal computer-based systems such as the MS Office Suite, is essential. The ability to read and accurately interpret wiring diagrams and electrical component specifications is crucial.

Additionally, the candidate should be skilled in performing power calculations, particularly involving AC drives and inverters, based on specific loading parameters. Advanced knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs and programming is an added advantage. The candidate must also demonstrate a proven ability to manage time effectively, complete tasks within deadlines, and coordinate work for junior engineering staff. Leadership qualities, including the ability to work effectively in a team, maintain punctuality and attendance, and exhibit professional business conduct, are essential.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS

Education:Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or a Bachelor of Science with similar Engineering education preferred.

Applicants with an equivalent combination of education and previous work experience will be considered.

Experience:7+ years related work experience typical.

Reasoning development necessary to:Apply principals of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form. Deal with several theoretical and concrete variables.
